During the Open Access Week also learn about CLARIN-LV

October 19, 2021 at 10:56 am

From 25 to 31 October, International Open Access Week, which is  a global week of self-initiated events highlighting Open Access to research, is being celebrated around the world. This initiative is seen as an important catalyst for fruitful discussions, building new collaborations and strengthening and developing existing collaborations. This year, the UL Library and the OpenAIRE National Open Access Service (NAPD) welcome Latvian scientific communities to short online lectures.

This year, the OpenAIRE National Open Access Service and the University of Latvia Library invite staff of universities in Latvia and research institutes, researchers, doctoral students, research project managers and coordinators, publishers and editors of scientific publications, information and data specialists, as well as others interested to participate in several online informative events.

When thinking about the concept of openness in science, various myths about it are constantly spread in the society. During International Open Access Week (25-31 October), the NAPD invites you to share your observations and impressions, experiences, in the face of a widely or perhaps unexpectedly unknown open science myth. Please send your stories to e-mail napd(at)lu.lv. It is planned to compile and use them to create a map of open science myths in the Latvian scientific community.
